How to Use Your Social Media
Are you making the most of your Social Media?
You know how to create Facebook and Instagram pages. Hopefully, you know how important they are to your business (if not, read our blogs here and here). Now, some of you may be wondering, how do we use Instagram and Facebook to promote our business? There are several principals you need to remember when posting on these two important social media sites. Here, we’ll give you a few.
  • Post every day on Instagram, at least 3 times a week on Facebook.
Your patients will expect you to be active on your social media. This is especially true on Instagram. Instagram users check their feed every day. Often multiple times a day. To catch their attention, you have to have something for them every day they check in. Facebook, while it’s still the most used Social media account, isn’t used in the same way as Instagram. Facebook users don’t expect pages they follow to post every single day. But, they still expect to see posts every once in a while. Putting out posts 3 times a week is great for that format.
  • Post quality content on Instagram and Facebook
So, now you know how often to post. Now, we’re going to talk about what to post. It’s not enough to just post random articles or questions. Your audience doesn’t just want pretty images, they follow your page because they want your expertise. They want to be informed. The best thing to do is keep your posts relevant, informative and engaging. Having informational videos on subjects your patients care about, going live with frequently asked questions from patients and letting them know about new products or specials you have in the office will be much more appreciated than simply posting pictures of flowers or fun looking videos.
  • Advertise, advertise, advertise!
A lot of practices make this mistake. They post on their pages, but, they don’t advertise. Why is this a mistake? Because, even if you’re posting good content often, it’s not worth much if no one sees it. Putting money into your social media posts will ensure that those posts get seen. Using targeted audience posts you can also make sure your posts get seen by the right people. To learn more about the difference between posting and advertising, read our blog post (here).
We’ve talked a lot about Instagram and Facebook. That’s because these two social media sites are essential to the health of your practice. If you keep these three rules in mind, you’ll see much more success on these platforms.
